ReadyToTravel Privacy Policy

ReadyToTravel is an app by Becare Digital (CNPJ 57.243.830/0001-67), Brazil. This policy explains what information the app uses, why, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, message us on WhatsApp at +55 19 99751-7216.

The short version

  • No account. You don’t sign up, and we never ask for your email or a password.
  • Your trip stays on your phone. Your name, your trip details and your progress are stored only on your device.
  • The microphone is only used when you tap it, to check your pronunciation. We never receive or keep your voice.
  • Payments go through Google Play or the App Store. We never see your card details.
  • No ads, and we never sell your data.

Information stored on your device

To build your simulated trip, ReadyToTravel saves on your phone:

  • the first name you enter;
  • your trip: the destination, the country you fly from, the purpose of the trip, who you travel with, and the dates of the simulated trip;
  • the language you chose, and whether translations are shown;
  • your progress: the levels you finished, your stars, and the words and phrases due for review;
  • whether you have a Trip Pass, and until when.

This information does not leave your phone and is not sent to us. You can delete all of it at any time in Profile → Erase everything and start over, or by uninstalling the app.

The microphone and your voice

ReadyToTravel asks for the microphone only for the speaking exercises, and only listens after you tap to speak.

  • Pronunciation check. To compare what you said with the phrase, the app uses your phone’s speech recognition service, usually Google’s on Android and Apple’s on iPhone. That service turns what you just said into text and may process the audio on its own servers, under Google’s privacy policy or Apple’s. The app only receives the text, uses it to show which words came out right, and doesn’t keep it.
  • Recording to compare. Where your phone can’t check pronunciation, the app can record your voice so you can play it back next to the phrase. The recording stays in your phone’s memory, is never sent anywhere, and is discarded when you move on.

You can deny or remove microphone access in your phone’s settings at any time. The rest of the app keeps working.

Audio and pictures

The phrases you hear and the photos you see come with the app. When a phrase has no recording, your phone’s own voice reads it. Playing them sends nothing about you.

Usage statistics

ReadyToTravel doesn’t send usage statistics or crash reports. If that changes, we’ll update this policy before it does, and you’ll be able to turn them off.

Trip Pass purchases

The Trip Pass is sold through Google Play or the Apple App Store. The store handles the payment under its own privacy policy, and we never receive your card details. The app only receives the confirmation of your purchase, to unlock the situations it includes.

Who we share information with

Your information stays on your phone, so we don’t share it with anyone. The speech recognition service and the app stores receive only what is described above, under their own policies. We don’t sell your information, show ads, or share information for advertising.

Under Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and similar laws, such as the GDPR:

  • information on your device, and the microphone, are used to provide the app and the exercises you asked for;
  • purchase information is used to provide the Trip Pass you bought.

How long we keep information

Information on your device stays there until you erase it or uninstall the app. Recordings are discarded as soon as you move on to the next phrase. Purchase records are kept by the app stores, for as long as the law and their rules require.

Your rights

You can ask us to confirm whether we hold information about you, to access, correct or delete it, or to receive a copy, and you can object to its use. Because the app has no accounts and your information stays on your phone, we usually hold none. Message us on WhatsApp at +55 19 99751-7216 and we’ll help. You can also contact Brazil’s National Data Protection Authority (ANPD), or the data protection authority where you live.

Children

ReadyToTravel is not intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we’ll let you know in the app.
